About Dr. Abdishakur
Dr. Abdishakur Mohamed Abdi is a pediatric surgeon based in Mogadishu and one of the founders and the current vice chairman of SAPS. He also serves as the Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Mogadishu Somali Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital, where his clinical expertise spans a wide range of pediatric surgical conditions.
He is recognized as the first domestically trained pediatric surgeon in Somalia.
Dr. Abdishakur is actively involved in clinical leadership and research, with multiple published research articles and case reports in peer-reviewed medical journals. His academic interests include pediatric surgical outcomes, rare congenital anomalies and surgical education.
